National Jubolympic slump

I’m so glad that I’m in London this summer. The two weeks of the Olympics have brought a fantastic atmosphere to the city, and it’s really nice to see how an event can cheer up even the most miserable of commuters. We went down to the Live Site in Potters Fields last Sunday, and sat in the sun with Tower Bridge in the background and cheered on Usain Bolt in the 100m final. I had to pinch myself when the rings were lit up and the lightshow on the bridge started. To round off the whole Olympicing, we went to Royal Naval College in Greenwich yesterday with some snacks, a bottle of rosé (which we shouldn’t have had, apparently, but the nice steward just told us to hide it) and sunned ourselves while watching the men’s basketball final.

It’s been some summer so far.
