Love letter to London

I vividly remember saying to someone on the phone last summer ‘I’m not a city person, I think. I don’t think I could ever settle in here’.

A year later, part of me is now Londoner. I take quiet pride when things go right, have a good grumble along with everyone else about the weather/mayor/public transport, I tut when people stand on the wrong side of the escalator.

I’ve made some good friends and reconnected with some old friends, worked with some amazing colleagues and enjoyed some of what I now count as some of the best experiences of my life!

I’m so thrilled to be going back to Ireland, close to friends and family, and best of all I’m just delighted to no longer be doing a long-distance relationship – we’ll be living together instead! But a little piece of my heart now belongs to London.
